Covid-19 Omicron India News Live: Today's Covid numbers— India on Saturday opened the registration for covid-19 vaccines for children between the age of 15 to 18 years on the CoWin portal.

Covid-19 Omicron Cases and Deaths in India Today Live: India’s Omicron tally on Saturday reached 1,431, with Maharashtra recording the highest cases at 454, followed by Delhi at 351, Tamil Nadu 118, Gujarat 115 and Kerala 109. Meanwhile, the country reported 22,775 new coronavirus cases and 406 deaths in the last 24 hours. Active caseload currently stands at 1,04,781 while recovery rate currently is 98.32%.

In another development, India on Saturday opened the registration for Covid-19 vaccines for children between the age of 15 to 18 years on the CoWin portal. “If the children are safe, then the future of the country is safe. I request the family members to register the eligible children for vaccination, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said.

Mandaviya had on Friday said that India has crossed the milestone of 145 crore Covid vaccinations. “My gratitude to our doctors, scientists, healthcare and frontline workers for displaying immense grit, determination & resolve in the challenging 2021 year,” he said in a tweet. Several states across India reported a huge spike in Covid numbers on New Year’s eve. While Maharashtra reported fresh 8,067 cases of Covid-19, West Bengal and New Delhi reported 3,451 and 1,796 cases respectively.
